Negus is a noun derived from the Ethiopian Semitic root ngś (neguess), meaning "to reign". The title has subsequently been used to translate the word "KING" or "EMPEROR" in Biblical and other literature.

After a previous project using artificial intelligence technologies and cited in the Best Electronic Music of January 2023 by Mixmag, Bandcamp and Resident Advisor, it is a more autobiographical EP.

Back in France in 2019 after nearly 7 years in Canada, I realized that the French scene is still mostly white and ethnocentric, leaving little room for electronic artists from different diasporas yet more and more numerous. Refusing to be confined to the Afro/Dancehall aesthetic where we prefer to pigeonhole black artists, this is the proof that we can continue to exist through techno sounds despite social barriers;
like a "Negus in Paris".
